Brazilian ethanol production rises slightly during H1 September

In Brazil, Reuters reports UNICA data shows ethanol production rose 2% during H1 September compared to the last half of August at 2.12 billion liters. Sugar production rose significantly by more than 12% to 2.86 million metric tons as mills continued to shift their production away from ethanol in response to pre-election gas price cuts that makes gasoline more competitive. Sugarcane crushing rose 2.5% during the first half of the month to 39.49 million tons.
