In Kenya, the Nation newspaper reports Mumias Sugar is preparing to start ethanol production again after financial woes forced the miller to shut down a month ago due to lack of feedstock. Private millers are set to provide the company with molasses so it can kickstart production that will generate revenue to help get things back on track. The company, once the country’s shining star producing sugar, ethanol and bottled water amongst other products, was put into receivership in September 2019.
